Fee Structure

The standard fee for a counselling session is $90, however, we do operate a sliding scale of fees (see below) based on what clients can afford to pay.  A minimum fee of $30 is requested. We do not wish a lack of money to be a barrier to someone receiving our counselling service. Please do talk to us if you are in difficulty and we will work something out.

Clients who are on a low income, or in receipt of a benefit, may be eligible for some assistance from WINZ (Disability Allowance). Check out their website www.workandincome.govt.nz or download their pamphlet on disability allowance which includes details on income levels for qualification. Alternatively you can phone them on 0800 559 009. Application forms and information are also available at The Grief Centre.

Counselling sessions are usually for 50-60 minutes, however, the first session may sometimes be a little longer. Family sessions may take up to 90 minutes. The same fee applies for all sessions.

There are no “set” number of counselling sessions a person may have or require—this is determined by you and your counsellor, as is the frequency of sessions.

Cancellations
If you do have to cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible, preferably at least 24 hours.

Method of Payment
Payment is generally by cash or cheque at the end of each session. We do not have EFTPOS facilities. If you prefer to pay through online banking facilities, an invoice will be issued which will include our bank account details.
