through this difficult time?
The experience of grief brings people into often unfamiliar territory. Normal events may now bring social, emotional or spiritual challenges.
People may find themselves wondering how it is that:
Maintaining a sense of self and where you belong in the world can be a daily struggle in your changed world.
Previous experiences of loss or grief may be felt with a renewed intensity.
Personal beliefs, aspects of faith and spiritual resources may be challenged, or become more important and real.
You may feel tired and despondent and find coping and communicating with friends and family and their well intentioned advice difficult to cope with
You may crave company or seek solitude
You may sleep too much or not enough
You may have unexamined expectations about how you should cope with grief.
Find out more on simple tips to help deal with grief and loss; common feelings and reactions; advice on coping with anniversaries, and managing grief at holiday times and Christmas.
